FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of parts of an airport in Florida on Saturday, officials said.

Update 1:35 p.m. EDT July 10: The Broward County Sheriff’s office gave the all-clear and opened Terminals 2 and 3 and the airport entrance.
The MPs continue to investigate.

Update 12:15 p.m. EDT July 10: The airport entrance is closed while the Broward County Sheriff Office’s bombing squad is investigating, the agency said.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said it had been called about 8:49 a.m. about a bomb threat and had closed Terminals 2 and 3 and the airport entrance as a precaution.
At around 8:49 a.m., BSO MPs were informed of a bomb threat @FLLFlyer. As a precaution, the MPs excavated Terminals 2 and 3 and also closed the entrance to the airport. The BSO bomb squad is investigating. People driving to the airport are asked to avoid the area. pic.twitter.com/7QPPfJw6Su

Original report: Terminals 2 and 3 were evacuated at Fort Lauderdale International Airport at around 9:35 a.m., airport officials said on social media.

Terminal 2 operates flights for Delta Airlines, reported Boca News Now. Terminal 3 is used by American Airlines, JetBlue and Spirit.
