Community members are encouraged to attend and contribute to the Local Foods, Local Places Virtual Workshop sessions, which will take place Monday through Thursday next week. The events organized by the Urban Food Systems Pact – Skyway (UFSPS) will help develop a community action plan to strengthen the local food economy and improve access to healthy food.

The sessions will explore potential food-related projects such as developing an affordable neighborhood farmers’ market, a food center with a commercial kitchen for entrepreneurs, or a gardening program led by BIPOC elders.

The aim of the workshop is to develop a short-term action plan to improve access to local food, which is to be implemented over the next two to five years.
