After back-to-back wins at the start of the season, you’d think everything is fine around the galaxy, especially considering the team only won six games last year.

Despite Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez’s strong start and the fact that the Galaxy are just an undefeated team in Major League Soccer after the first two weeks, Galaxy coach Greg Vanney is more concerned about the four goals in the first two games were scored.

The Galaxy will be subjected to a major test on Saturday night on the street against the Seattle Sounders (6 p.m., FS1).

“We want to get through a game where we don’t give up a stupid goal or two,” said Vanney. “We want to stay clean and tight. You have to do that when you’re out and about playing a team that is as good as them.

“You look at the goals that we gave up … we gave up too many chances, so I think we’re just tightening up there, organizing things earlier, getting in the right places, recognizing situations, sometimes where we are lose The ball is important, that was a little bit in the (Inter) Miami game. The other goals, we gave up a penalty, we gave up a standard goal, we gave up goals that are avoidable, with some focus, with some organization, and some things we can do to help ourselves before the situation arises . ”

There were also moments like the second half of last week’s game at the New York Red Bulls when the galaxy lost its shape defensively and the game was stretched, creating scoring opportunities.

“We have to make sure that we can stay connected and close together and support each other in defensive games,” said Vanney. “We’re making the right progress.”

The galaxy is also in the works on the backline. New signing Derrick Williams has yet to make his debut despite Vanney saying he should be available for Saturday night’s game.

Sega Coulibaly was signed on Wednesday but must go through visa and quarantine periods before joining the club. So it could be weeks before the backline has any real chemistry.

Regardless of which combinations Vanney will send out on the grid, the Galaxy faces a big task – it hasn’t won in Seattle since July 9, 2016

“It’s a tough place no matter what year they look and who they are,” said Galaxy defender Daniel Steres of the Sounders playing on the street. “We have to be organized and play our game to be honest. We want to own the ball, we want to be on our forefoot. We won’t be at home but we want to be aggressive and play our game. ”

Kevin Cabral update

The galaxy is still waiting for the arrival of the new Designated Player Kevin Cabral. The early plan was for Cabral to arrive in town earlier this week and have him available for next week’s game at LAFC.

“This is a bit mind-boggling,” said Vanney. “Today we found out… we were wondering what took so long for him to go through the process. There appeared to be an administrative error in the embassy regarding some of the papers.

“We were hoping they’d cleared that up … but they didn’t, which means he probably won’t get his passport back until Monday. Hopefully he will travel Monday or Tuesday at the latest. The challenge for us from a quarantine point of view is to drive us into another week. I know he’s keen to get here, he’s eager and we’d love to bring him here. We’re going to look at you next week now. ”
