Northbound lanes of SR 99 reopen at Seattle’s 1st Ave S Bridge following crash

SEATTLE – The lanes of State Route 99 heading north on 1st Avenue S. Bridge reopened shortly before 6:10 a.m. on Friday after an accident, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT).

SDOT originally tweeted about the collision just after 4:30 a.m. saying that all lanes going north were closed due to a multiple vehicle collision.

All northbound lanes were closed for more than an hour, causing significant delays on State Route 509 north to South Park.

The Seattle Fire Department responded to the clash, but there were no reports of injuries.

While West Seattle Bridge remains closed for repairs, 1st Avenue S. Bridge is one of the few routes for residents of West Seattle who can travel east over the Duwamish Waterway.
