RENTON, Washington (AP) – The Seattle Seahawks say testing on linebacker Darrell Taylor’s neck is clear again and won’t stop him from playing the New Orleans Saints next Monday.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Monday that both a CT scan and an MRI showed Taylor had no neck injury and may have sustained more shoulder injuries in the fourth quarter of the Pittsburgh loss on Sunday.

“He’s got stuck in pretty well. We’ll have to wait and see how it is, but it might be a little more on his shoulder even if we find out, ”Carroll said.

Taylor was taken off the field on a back board as a precaution during a long delay in the fourth quarter after his neck was crushed in a collision. Carroll said Taylor was upset that he had to be immobilized and wanted to jump up and leave the field alone.

Taylor was rushed to a Pittsburgh hospital after the injury but was allowed to fly home with the team after the game.

“Whenever you strip a guy like that, the threat is so great,” said Carroll. “He’s done really well so we hope for the best and he may have a chance to leave this week.”
