SEATTLE – Two days before the first Day In Day Out music festival in Seattle started this weekend, the festival lost two artists.

On Thursday, Portland rapper Aminé said he had to cancel his performance scheduled for Saturday because he had a groundbreaking case of COVID-19.

“I am fully vaccinated but recently tested positive for Covid. I’m really stunned by this, but I’m going to rest, quarantine and hopefully see you guys soon, ”he wrote on an Instagram story.

The organizers replaced Aminé with the Seattle hip-hop artist and the University of Washington graduate Sol.

Aminé wasn’t the only defeat in Saturday’s lineup, however.

Seattle-based R&B artist Parisalexa also canceled her performance after losing her voice to non-COVID-19 illness.

“In a time like this, when health means wealth more than ever, I don’t want to risk anything. I am so grateful to everyone for supporting me and I hope that you all understand and see me for sure at the next show that will take place in the coming months! ”She wrote on Instagram.

Local R&B artist LIVt will take her place.

Produced by the same group responsible for the Capitol Hill Block Party, the festival is the first of its kind in Seattle this year. It essentially replaces the 2021 bumbershoot, which traditionally takes place on Labor Day weekend.

The festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday at the Fisher Green Pavilion in the Seattle Center and includes food trucks, an indoor-outdoor beer garden, and VIP experiences.

The gates open at 2 p.m. and the event ends every evening at 10 p.m.
