Blake Webber AIA is the new Associate Principal in the firm. Webber joined Rice Fergus Miller in 2019 and has over a decade of experience as a healthcare architect across the country. Blake has worked in the healthcare design field both as an owner representative and a traditional design consultant. He has worked on a variety of Rice Fergus Miller’s medical projects, including rural clinics, assisted living facilities, drug treatment (MAT) facilities, and major hospital renovations. Webber and interior designer Gena Lee now run the company’s health studio. Jason Ritter-Lopaowski LEED AP BD + C has been promoted to Associate Principal. Ritter-Lopaowski is an architect in the hospitality, fire and rescue service studios and has almost 15 years of professional experience. At RFM he has worked on projects such as the 7 Cedars Hotel & Casino expansion, various Tulalip Casino & Resort improvements and is currently working on four different fire stations for Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue. In addition to project work, he played an active role in company management and the introduction of new technologies and tools. Kimberlyn Caoaga’s LEED Green Associate has been promoted to Associate. Caoagas is an architectural designer with a passion for fully integrated architecture and interior design solutions. She currently designs and leads the development of two private aircraft terminals for Modern Aviation, a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) based in New York. Outside the office, she is a board member of NOMA NW, a professional body committed to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in the AEC industry. Susie Parsons NCIDQ was promoted to associate. Parsons is an interior designer who works in the company’s senior living and hospitality studios and has over 8 years of experience. Most recently, Susie worked on improvements to the Panorama senior community in Lacey, WA, on various projects with Emerald Heights in Redmond, and on an expansion of the Eliseo senior community in Tacoma. In addition to project work, Susie is active on the firm’s charity and equity committees. Rice Fergus Miller is a 52-strong architecture, interior design, planning and Vizlab company based in Bremerton.

The Watershed Company hired Kim Frappier, environmental planner / ISA certified arborist, and Heather Rogers, planner / geomorphologist, became a licensed geologist. Frappier is an environmental planner and natural resource project manager with 12 years of experience. She supports the company in the development of technical documents for environmental plans and guidelines, permits, forest health and management planning as well as planning for the reduction of natural resources. With seven years of experience, Rogers can now offer additional services to customers, including geological and hydrogeological assessments, and canal migration zone identification and mapping. The Watershed Company provides natural resource assessment, mitigation and restoration, environmental planning and approval, rainwater monitoring, tree maintenance and landscape architecture services.

Allana Buick and Bers hired David Kirchev as a building technologist for their Portland team. Kirchev has over two years of experience since graduating with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Portland State University. His work included designing hundreds of mechanical and stabilizing parts in AutoCAD and Solidworks, performing load modeling and stress testing, and collaborating as chief engineer on several projects. His tasks include the construction status assessment, design development, construction management, the creation of appropriate evaluation reports and the creation of high-quality construction drawings.
