With the opening day of Seattle’s newly renovated Climate Pledge Arena approaching, recent announcements about the venue’s food and beverage options have attracted some national attention.

Lil Woody announced Tuesday that she had been named the official burger partner for the Seattle Kraken and Climate Pledge Arena. The arena location – called Lil Lil Woody’s – will be in the main hall. Designed for “quick, casual service,” the menu will highlight the restaurant’s three best burgers: the Lil Woody (four-pound beef patty, cheddar, onion, cucumber, ketchup, mayonnaise), the Big Woody ( Four-pound beef patty, bacon, cheddar, pickles, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, ketchup, mayonnaise) and the Impossible Veggie Burger. Concert and octopus goers can pay for their meals using Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology.

Over the next three weeks, Kraken and Lil Woody burger fans can celebrate the upcoming season with three exclusive burgers available at Capitol Hill, White Center and Ballard restaurants. From October 12th to 18th, fans can get the octopus hat trick: a quarter pound patty with cream cheese, bacon, jalapenos, smoked cheddar, an egg with the sunny side up and hot sauce. Then, October 19-15, Lil Woody’s will work with Molly De Mers, Head Chef at Climate Pledge Arena, to create That’s My Jam: a quarter pound patty with cheddar, rocket, canned lemon gremolata and bacon jam. Finally, the restaurant serves up its Barn Burner Burger, created by Krakens left winger Brandon Tanev. From Oct. 26th to Nov. 1.

If chicken is more your thing, it was announced on Twitter last week that Shaquille O’Neil would be bringing his Big Chicken restaurant to the Climate Pledge Arena, the chain’s first arena location. The chicken joint has created an exclusive sandwich especially for Climate Pledge, which is aptly called Kraken. The Seattle exclusive will include buffalo chicken, bleu cheese, and cream cheese. And like other food, beverage, and merchandising locations across the arena, Big Chicken will be outfitted with Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology.

Other local restaurants will also be featured in the Climate Pledge Arena, including Ballard Pizza and Din Tai Fung. For a more formal dining option, the Metropolitan Grill has a seat-service restaurant in the arena’s premium seating area. Elliot’s Oyster House and Just Poke will also be present in the arena, but menu options have not yet been released.

The food and drink program at the Climate Pledge Arena, called The Climate Collective, is “committed to delivering a program that surpasses the culinary experience normally found in an arena.” Executive Chef Molly De Murs studied molecular gastronomy in the Scottsdale branch of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. Prior to joining the Climate Pledge Arena, Murs was the Executive Chef of the Seattle Aquarium.

All restaurants will be open when the Climate Pledge Arena first welcomes visitors to Coldplay’s grand opening concert on October 22nd.
