Enter the Seattle Center Armory decked out for the holidays and you’ll find Winter Train & Village and weekend mainstage performances. Stop for a bite to eat in the Armory Food & Event Hall, or do ice sculpting on Saturday lunchtime and colorful campus lighting every day of the week. Check out the Awesome Exhibition in the Fisher Pavilion or stroll through the newly opened Climate Pledge Arena.
Art education and school performance groups from across the region provide the virtual holiday spirit and song at www.seattlecenter.com and on the Seattle Center’s social media channels, November 26th-December. 31.
Winterfest painting competition
An online competition invites aspiring young artists and others inspired to submit their own renders of Winterfest-themed coloring pages for display on the Seattle Center’s social media channels. Each week, a winning entry is selected that receives a small prize.
Explore a 12 m long model railway from the turn of the century and a wintry miniature village in the Armory Food & Event Hall, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., November 26 to December. 31. Visitors can pick up an entry form at the village train station and look for clues on a challenging paper chase. Donate to keep the train running.
Twinkling tree lights line the campus paths to complement the colorful lighting on campus buildings and grounds. Lighting, provided by the Climate Pledge Arena, includes a special International Fountain light and music show, daily at 6:00 p.m. November 26-Jan. 1, 2022.
This interactive exhibition of LEGO models features 38 large-format LEGO creations with almost 1 million LEGO bricks. The exhibition, Nov. 13th-Jan. November 2022 in the Fisher Pavilion a 8-foot-tall, 660-pound Orca, the world’s first life-size Harley-Davidson made of LEGO bricks and a nearly 7-meter-high NASA SLS rocket. Watch a world-class sculptor at work creating original ice art, Saturday, November 27th through December, 12pm – 2pm. 18, on Fisher Green. Master carvers Chan Kitburi and Janson Iwakami will shape ice into seasonal and Christmas sculptures, perfect for vacation snapshots and selfies.
Get a glimpse of the cultures, skills and creativity of the Seattle Center Festál festivals in virtual programs hanging on a stunning new LED screen above the Armory Mainstage on weekday midday (TBC).
Armory Mainstage offers professional live entertainment for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays from November 27th to December 12th. December 26th, excluding December 25th. Performances include choral music, jazz and rock bands, dance, acrobatics, and a variety of family entertainment.
Leading cover band Groove Nation plays a four hour set on the main stage of Armory, 8: 00-23: 45 p.m.-12 midnight. This event is TBC and is subject to state, county, and city COVID-19 requirements.
Seattle Center Winterfest activities are free unless otherwise noted. All activities are subject to change. Masks are required for everyone (ages five and up) in Seattle Center buildings and at outdoor events of 500 or more people that may also require proof of vaccination or a recent COVID-19 negative test. Consider all of your transportation options en route to the Seattle Center Winterfest. The newly expanded Seattle Center Monorail, now accepting ORCA, provides a 90-second ride between downtown and the Seattle Center, and the expanded light rail provides additional ways to get to the center.
