Prior to the debate, the coalition invited the public to table questions, which helped inspire the questions that four moderators will ask the candidates on Wednesday evening. This week’s presenters are KOMO 4 news anchor Mary Nam, Daniel Beekman from The Seattle Times, Amy Radil from KUOW Public Radio and Chris Daniels from KING 5.
The debating coalition will host a second mayoral debate in Seattle on October 28th at 7 p.m., focusing on public health and safety. Crosscut reporter David Kroman will be one of the moderators for the second debate.
The Washington State Debate Coalition, founded by Seattle CityClub in 2016, has produced public debates across the state, including debates with candidates for governor and congressional. The coalition is supported by media, educational and civic organizations.
