We are in the last part of August, in fact the last full week of the month. Pretty damn wild if you ask us. But that also means there is no better time to have fun before fall falls. As always, here are the 10 best things to do in and around Seattle this week.

Drive-In Theater in Marymoor Park

If you want a break from your normal old streaming, check out drive-in movies in Marymoor Park. This month you can watch movies like Star Wars, Jumanji, Jurassic World, Jaws and more. Now that the weather is getting nice, it’s the perfect time to go back to the movies outside, so be sure to check it out.

Whiskey & Wildbites

Every Thursday in August, enjoy delicious food from a number of Seattle’s top celebrity chefs while the Seattle area’s best whiskey tastings are on offer. What’s even cooler is that this takes place in the zoo so you can eat while you stroll around the zoo grounds. And your ticket helps save wildlife in PNW and around the world.

Phinney Food Truck on Fridays

Food trucks are always a topic in our books. If you’re feeling the same, don’t miss the Phinney Food Truck Fridays. You can enjoy food from places like Sam Choy’s Poke to the Max, Panda Dim Sum, Bumbu Truck, Bean Fish Taiyaki, Delfino’s Pizza, Kiss My Grits, Falafel Salam, Seoul Bowl, and Off the Rez. It will definitely be delicious.

LUSIO lights

If you are looking for an outdoor immersive light display this summer, LUSIO is for you. The exhibition encourages visitors to explore and play between art installations of all shapes, sizes, and formats. The special thing about this event is the fact that it is completely free!

Heroes and Villains: The Art of Disney Costume

We bet that at least some of you are interested in, or know someone who is, anything Disney-related. Well, you can visit a brand new exhibition at MoPOP with “more than 70 original pieces including ball gowns, magic capes, military uniforms, tiaras and of course glass slippers”. At the exhibition, you’ll learn about the vision, process, and craft that were used to create the costumes of some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.

Seattle Deconstructed Art Fair

The Deconstructed Art Fair is the replacement for the larger Seattle Art Fair, which attracts local, national and international galleries. But what makes it especially cool is that it allows smaller and local galleries to reach larger audiences. In fact, over 50 galleries are participating this year and you can visit them all online and in person.
