SEATTLE – Nothing says summer time like sitting outside on a beautiful terrace with a few friends. Before the Hot Girl Summer, I made it my business to find the best outdoor restaurants that you might not know about.
If you’re new to Seattle, Ballard is a neighborhood north of downtown. Right next to Puget Sound, it’s also one of my favorite areas to eat out. SO many great restaurants and spaces. In this video, my foodie friend Kelly Le and I visit three of my favorites (PLUS three more honorable mentions to be highlighted!).
FIRST STOP – Ray’s boathouse
This place is a must if you haven’t been to Ballard before. Calling all seafood lovers and terrace / sunset lovers. This is, so to speak, the holy grail of the terraces. When I’m trying to impress someone and show them how beautiful my city is, I take them here. The food and abundance are top notch and happy hour is super affordable! They only accept walk-ins right now, but they have a huge free parking lot so waiting is a breeze on a sunny day.
I tried their Tagliatelle Primavera pasta, Mediterranean mussels (Thai style red curry dipped in bread – WOW), spring pea salad and crab cakes.
Address: 6049 Seaview Ave NW
SECOND STOP – Sabine Café Bar & Market
I’ve wanted to try this place out for a while. It’s a new cafe that has taken over the Bastille room. It has an amazing outside deck that just screams summery brunch with the girls! You can expect breakfast sandwiches, unusual toasts, everything to do with coffee, cinnamon rolls and more.
I tried the Vegan Cinnamon Roll, Avocado Hummus + Homemade Pita, Salmon Salad, Ricotta Strawberry Toast and two splash drinks that are perfect for summer. Still so full just thinking about it. I want to go to STAT brunch again!
Address: 5307 Ballard Avenue NW
This is a hidden gem for sure! With a fantastic outdoor patio / garden in a real neighborhood of the city, come to this place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Ballard Ave. I’ve wanted to try this place out for a while, so loved my list here. They offer delicious PNW food and craft cocktails.
I got to try the chicken wings, ahi tuna, meat + cheese boards and two signature cocktails. Your mouth is still watering …
Address: 6408 32nd Ave NW
Matador has a NEW location! Matador has moved a couple of restaurants to an incredible new space that has an outside deck, mezcaleria bar in the back, and a little surprise room in the back that you can also rent with friends. My favorites here: Margarita, HUGE nachos and their enchiladas.
Address: 5410 Ballard Avenue NW
I love this place for dinner / dates and brunch. I have never been disappointed with their food!
Address: 5214 Ballard Ave NW
One of my favorite bars with an EPIC back patio and now a front patio. Cheap drinks / food if you want super casual.
Address: 5225 Ballard Ave NW
