Police are investigating after two people were fatally shot in the Lake City area of Seattle on Saturday afternoon.

The shooting occurred at the Hillcourt Apartments on the 3000 block of Northeast 140th Street.

“At this point we have two people who have apparently passed away. We don’t know how they died. We have some suspicions, but we can’t say for sure at this point, ”said Patrick Michaud, Seattle Police Department detective.

It is not yet known what led to the shooting. However, Michaud informed KIRO 7 that whoever might have killed the people could enter the building and apartment without intruding and without anyone noticing that anything was happening.

“It was believed to be a murder-suicide, but at this point it doesn’t seem to be,” Michaud said.

The shooting is the latest in a series of violent incidents from Friday to Saturday.

Police said a brawl near a nightclub in Pioneer Square was followed by a shootout and vehicle chase.

A man was beaten with a gun overnight in West Seattle and witnesses say the suspect opened fire while trying to escape the scene.

A man was injured in a shooting near 2nd Avenue and Pine Street on Friday night.

In Chinatown / International District, a man was shot dead after a fight in a nearby club.

“It was a heavy night in the city. We need additional officers, ”said Michaud.

The police are asking anyone who sees a car pulling away from the apartments or has information that may help to call them.
