WRAP Declares Seattle Police Division Approval of BolaWrap® Pilot Program

TEMPE, Arizona, May 26, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Wrap Technologies, Inc. (the “Company” or “WRAP”) (Nasdaq: WRAP), a global leader in innovative public safety technologies and services, announced that the Seattle Police Department (SPD) has approved a pilot program for the BolaWrap Remote Restraint device.

According to KOMO News in Seattle, SPD interim chief Adrian Diaz has lit the BolaWrap green for field tests by the Seattle Police Department. More details on the program will be released as they become available.

Lisa Herbold, Chair of Seattle City Council, Chair of the Council’s Public Safety and Human Services Committee, said, “I agreed with the community police commission when they recommended in January that the Seattle Police Department guidelines reflect: ‘Protection the sanctity of human life should be the main principle of how and when violence is used. ‘I am very encouraged by BolaWrap’s potential to de-escalate situations and reduce the number of tragic consequences. “

The WRAP Training Academy trainers conducted a live demonstration of the BolaWrap to officials in Seattle on April 12, 2021. The Seattle Police Department currently has around 1,000 officers.
