Alex Rodriguez is not yet an NBA owner, but according to one report, he may already be looking to bring a team back to Seattle.
The former New York Yankees giants recently reached an agreement with business mogul Marc Lore to buy Minnesota Timberwolves for $ 1.5 billion, in which the group should take a majority stake from 2023, but according to St. Paul Pioneer Press Rodriguez move the franchise to Seattle.
MOVED FROM PARTNER TO SALE, TAYLOR SAYS T-WOLVES WILL NOT MOVE
The move would make sense on two fronts: Rodriguez spent the first seven years of his career playing for the Mariners, and Seattle previously had an NBA team before the SuperSonics moved and became Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008.
But the rumor of relocating the franchise has been turned down by former Timberwolves star Kevin Garnett.
According to reports, Garnett could be involved in the deal with Rodriguez and Lore should they take control of the organization in 2023. Garnett wanted to keep the Timberwolves in Minnesota.

Garnett isn’t the only one who wants the team to stay on the ball.
Current Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor was recently sued by minority owner Meyer Orbach, who said in his lawsuit that Taylor did not include a specific language in a sales contract to keep the wolves in Minnesota.
“We generally don’t comment on any pending legal matters,” Taylor said last week. “I stand by my previous statements and my commitment to keep the Timberwolves and Lynx in Minnesota.” The Lynx are the city’s WNBA team.

The city of Minneapolis, which owns Target Center, has an agreement with the team through 2035 that provides for a $ 50 million fine for breaking the arena lease. The NBA’s Board of Governors must also approve any sale or move of a club.
