Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan announced Monday that the city of Seattle will be partnering with LGBTQ + small businesses and other community organizations to host four Pride vaccine pop-ups on Capitol Hill, according to a press release this week.
The first event is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 21st at 5 p.m. at Rachel’s Ginger Beer on 12th Avenue. It should end at 8 p.m. Vaccines will be administered by the Seattle Fire Department, and attendees will be able to purchase any standard drink at Rachel’s at half price, the statement said.
The fire department will offer Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines and will give first or second doses. Patients who wish to receive a second dose must demonstrate vaccination of the first dose. Lambert House volunteers will be with Rachel to greet guests.
“Vaccination is about caring for and getting together with your community, both of which are central to our Pride experience,” Durkan said in the press release. “With every new vaccination, we promote the health and safety of our wider population, especially our most vulnerable.”
