The long-standing breakfast restaurant Beth’s Cafe is closing again and it is not clear whether or when the beloved diner will open again.
SEATTLE – Fans flocked to the long-running Seattle diner Beth’s Cafe on Labor Day before the popular breakfast spot closed its doors again. On Monday afternoon, the cafe turned customers away after food ran out.
The cafe, which was posted on Facebook last Friday, would be “temporarily closed” after Labor Day. The closure will take place around two months after the café reopened after an initial closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We did our best,” the café’s post reads, adding that the changed opening hours and the ongoing pandemic are likely to be responsible for the lack of stores.
However, the owners would not comment on Monday whether or when Beth’s will reopen. Some current and former employees told KING 5 that they are skeptical about the cafe reopening.

Beth Eisenstadt founded the diner of the same name in 1954 with her husband Harold, originally she used the room as a nickel slot game room.
Since then, the famous dinner has been featured in travel channels “Man vs. Food”, “World’s Best Places to Pig Out” and Food Networks “Top 5 Big Breakfasts”.
Beth’s Cafe is known for its giant 12-egg omelets and iconic decor along busy Aurora Avenue near Seattle’s Green Lake.
Beth’s closes temporarily – not forever, but temporarily! That is the bottom line;) We will be through …

“We’re just waiting to open in an atmosphere and under circumstances that will make Beth the long-term breakfast spot in Seattle that it has been known for since the 1950s,” the post said.
Fans are encouraged to follow the cafe on Facebook, where it is expected to post with updates from time to time.
Seattle, along with the rest of the country, continues to build its economy amid a fifth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic fueled by the Delta variant and the unvaccinated.
Starting with Labor Day weekend, the city is holding the second round of its “Welcome Back Weeks” in the city center to support small businesses.
