It’s a great weekend for Seattle devotees looking for fun without breaking the bank.
Have you always wanted to play a game of cricket, the second most popular sport in the world? This weekend in Issaquah you can watch the Seattle Thunderbolts do what they do best for free. How about a cheap drive-in? We have an overview of where you can go to watch a movie and where you can find a unique beer festival where free commemorative glasses in limited editions are distributed.

Sports: The sounds of the crickets
With more than 2.6 billion followers, cricket is the second largest sport in the world with 20 million fans right here in the US. However, many of us in Seattle are unfamiliar with the game.
Sling TV presents the Toyota Minor League Cricket Championship with over 200 games in 21 cities, including Seattle, starting this weekend and ending October 2-3. Teams compete in four geographic divisions with the goal of winning 250,000 US To win dollars in prize money.
For three weekends in a row, the Seattle Thunderbolts will compete against the San Diego Surf Riders, Hollywood Master Blasters and SoCal Lashings. Starting this weekend, all six games will take place on Saturdays at 2 p.m. and Sundays at 10 a.m. in Klahanie Park in Issaquah. And it doesn’t cost you a cent to participate.
Events: Go to the cinema with the car pool
This weekend, the first of four Carpool Cinema events will take place in the parking lot of the Phinney Center (6523 Phinney Ave. N.). This week’s movie, “Spider-man: Into the Spiderverse.” The cost is $ 20 per vehicle, but you must make your reservations online in advance and get in your car. Then arrive at 7:30 p.m. to get in line. The event is sponsored by Uheights, the Phinney Neighborhood Association, Scarecrow Video, and Capanis. More films will follow:

Good Brews: Reuben’s 9th Anniversary Bash
In 2012, Adam and Grace Robbing opened Reuben’s Brews and named the taproom after their firstborn son. This Saturday, August 7th, they will celebrate their 9th anniversary with an outdoor bash from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“In a turbulent world that is changing by the hour, it’s comforting to know that some things like good beer and friendship remain,” the Robbings said in a press release.
This large event takes place in the open-air rooms of the taproom including the beer garden on the terrace and other rooms behind the brewery. The event will feature the 2021 edition of Reuben’s & Friends Invitational, featuring 10 different beers from local Washington, Oregon and California breweries including Alvarado Street, Ecliptic, Great Notion, Hair Of The Dog, Kings and Daughters, Ravenna, Single Hill, Stemma, Varietal and Wander.
Enjoy live music, a variety of food trucks, and multiple dispensing stations with a wide variety of beers, Warren’s Ciders, and Fruitfizz Hard Seltzers.

Do you know the feeling when you follow the giant yellow “Garage Sale” signs for miles only to find out that it is not that big after all? You won’t have that feeling when you drive to Everett this Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm to visit the “mother of all garage sales” in the northwest
Over 100 families in the north end will be attending the event, and boy, is this serious. Break open your piggy banks and save your little bills because these people are ready to act. Maps of the various houses with sales are available online, although many others are not listed. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, finding parking, and going on sale rather than driving.
An information station, food trucks and toilets will be set up in Drew Nielsen Park to keep you energized and energized.
