Belgium suspends the J&J vaccine for anyone under the age of 41 after death
Belgium on Wednesday suspended the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine for anyone under the age of 41 following the death of a person who received the shot.
The government said in a statement it would seek urgent advice from the European Medicines Agency, the European Union’s medicines agency, before considering lifting the suspension. It added that the impact on the national vaccination campaign would be very limited.
Belgium used the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for the elderly with limited mobility and the homeless as it only takes one shot to be protected. These recordings will continue.
