Pedestrian struck, killed by practice in Marysville – KIRO 7 Information Seattle

MARYSVILLE, Washington. – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train in Marysville on Saturday, police said.

88th and State Train Collision Update: Unfortunately, this is a fatality. Traffic on State Ave is closed between 88th Street and 92nd Street. Collision detectors are on site and this will remain an extended closure. Please avoid the area.

The accident occurred after 11:30 a.m. on 88th Street and State Avenue.

Police said when they got to the scene they found a man in his early 30s dead.

They also said a worker in a nearby shop tried to warn the man about the train, but the victim did not respond.

The train tried to stop but could not and hit the man, authorities said.

The collision is being investigated further.
