SEATTLE, Aug. 13, 2021 / PRNewswire / – The world-famous Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD) Conference opens this weekend in Singapore, after having held in Paris, Sydney, London, Chicago and elsewhere in previous years. However, the host city of 2021 faces a major challenge: travel restrictions.

On behalf of the Association for Computing Machinery, KDD-2021 will take place from August 14th to 18th and will bring together top researchers from all over the world in a 100% virtual world – to share their latest innovations in the areas of data science, machine learning, big data and artificial intelligence. Zeacon, an interactive live streaming and virtual event startup based near Seattle, is organizing the event.

Zeacon built the virtual world on the Gather.Town platform with over 10 tailor-made maps with Singapore’s most famous landmarks. Guests virtually enter the legendary Changi Airport before exploring Marina Bay, Singapore Zoo, Sentosa Island, and more. Posters summarizing the results of over 300 research groups are displayed around the world.
