168 uptown units that dial into the design

This view looks to the northwest at the planned apartments, with the Republicans to the left.

As an in-house architect, Koz Development is ready for the next round of design review for his apartment project at 300 W. Republican St. An eight-story building with 162 units is proposed. There are no parking spaces or commercial space planned. The second review, which will likely take place virtually, will come later this summer.

The Uptown property is on the corner of Third Avenue West, a few blocks west of the Lower Queen Anne business district. Koz from Snohomish recently paid about $ 7.1 to assemble the property. The new building appears to be called Koz in Republican. It will replace some small old commercial buildings.

The team also includes Barghausen, a landscape architect and civil engineer.

The units would be mostly studios that extend up to a few two-bedroom units. Koz estimates the size would be between 258 and 634 square feet. A certain number of units would be affordable according to mandatory housing affordability requirements. Koz also intends to apply the city’s multi-family tax exemption program (MFTE). The total project size is around 80,035 square meters.

The tenants would have 139 bicycle parking spaces with a roll-out entrance high up. A roof terrace will potentially have up to 1,500. Renters would also have a covered terrace on the corner, off the lobby on Republican.

Meanwhile, in July, Koz will have his next design review for an eight-story, 167-unit project at 123 Bellevue Ave. E. Perform on Capitol Hill. Koz has also signed the land contract for this mid-block property.
