Fox News analyst Lawrence Jones spoke to Seattle residents about the homelessness crisis and the camps taking over their neighborhood parks.
When asked how she felt about the presence of homeless tents and camps in her neighborhood, a Seattle resident told Jones that she felt “sad” and “depressed”.
In a residential area of Seattle, tents filled parks and sports fields that were usually used by young children. In the past week there had been four incidents involving homeless people and children in the neighborhood.
“Earlier this week, a guy was carried on a stretcher with all the softball kids,” said one resident in the report that aired on Fox & Friends Monday.

She said the parents would wake up early in the morning before the children went to the park to “sweep” for needles and other paraphernalia.
One resident said, “How is that okay? How do we get to a place where we think [homeless encampments] are normal for this part of Seattle life? “
“Do you think it’s a security issue?” asked Jones.
“Yes, definitely.”
Another resident said her teenage boy was “distressed” by the situation and wanted more leadership from city officials in resolving the crisis, although she did not “hope” that the problem would be resolved anytime soon.
At one point, Jones showed a portable grill that was used not only to cook food, but also drugs like cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamines. The grill stood in front of a row of tents just outside the doors of a nearby school.
Some homeless tents had even been set up in the shelters of the school’s baseball field.
A local resident said he spoke to several city guides who said they were “doing their best” and that it was “a difficult problem to solve”.
“Who stands up for our children?” he asked.
