Tapster offers 57 taps for beer, cider, wine and more. # k5abend
SEATTLE – Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood is home to tech giants like Amazon, making it the perfect place for a new high-tech cup room.
Tapster is the city’s first self-service bar. Each of the 57 taps has a touchscreen that measures how much beer you are pouring. You can get as little or as much as you want – or at least as much as the glass holds. Owner Roman Maliszewski says the best part is that this place gives everyone a chance to sample drinks before they indulge in a whole pint.
“It’s nice that you can try everything here in ounces,” says Maliszewski. “I wanted to make sure everyone was enjoying the experience.
While there is no shortage of beer to try, Tapster also offers wine, hard kombucha, hard seltzer, and a selection of soft drinks like cold brew coffee.
Once you’ve chosen your favorite drink, you can take a seat on a tree stump or a swing – and no, those aren’t a typo. The space is fun and inviting, and designed with social media in mind. Aside from the fun seating, the bright and colorful walls make the perfect backdrop for Instagram. There is also a large outdoor deck with even more swings.
Tapster is located on 1011 Valley Street in Seattle, South Lake Union. It is open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight, Friday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
