Seattle’s major league sports teams join forces to ‘Spend With Pride’

Intentionalist has always been committed to helping the community “spend the way it counts” – but since early June, the Seattle-based Small Business Directory has been encouraged by the city’s six major league sports teams to encourage Seattle to ” SpendS with pride. “

This unique campaign between Intentionalist, Seattle Sounders FC, Seattle Storm, Seattle Seahawks, OL Reign, Seattle Kraken and Seattle Mariners allows people to upload their receipts from local LGBTQ-owned small businesses during Pride Month and take the chance to buy a jersey or Win a prize packages from the team of your choice.

Spend With Pride has raised nearly $ 19,000 to date with a goal of $ 25,000 by the end of Pride month.

If the $ 25,000 goal is met, each of the six teams will make a joint donation to Gender Diversity, a local nonprofit that promotes awareness and understanding of gender diversity in children, adolescents and adults.

“The fact that all teams come together is really a unity,” said Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei. “Sometimes the organizations want to be behind something here and sometimes there, but when literally every single sports team in the greater Seattle area is behind it, it carries so much more weight.”

Frei said it was exciting to encourage the public to support and visit LGBTQ-owned businesses with the other sports teams, but also that taking part in this initiative allowed him and his teammates to think about what they got their money for spend who makes their food and where it comes from.
