Singapore Airlines has announced plans for a seasonal service to Vancouver and Seattle this winter.

The four times a week route will run non-stop between Singapore and Vancouver and then to Seattle, starting on December 2, 2021 and continuing until February 15, 2022.

Two of the weekly frequencies operate as vaccinated Travel Lane services, adding to the airline’s growing list of VTL options – earlier this week SIA announced plans for VTL flights to destinations such as London, New York and Paris.

The airline also confirmed that its daily nonstop flights to San Francisco will switch to VTL services starting October 20.

The Singapore-Vancouver-Seattle flight is operated by an A350-900 aircraft with 42 seats in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy and 187 in Economy Class.

Flights depart Singapore at 0915, land in Vancouver at 07:30, before departing for Seattle at 0840 and arriving at 09:30.

The return trip departs Seattle at 11 a.m. and arrives in Vancouver at 11:45 a.m. before taking off for Singapore at 1:15 p.m. and arriving at 2205 a.m. the next day.

SIA had previously started flights to Seattle in September 2019, but the service was suspended with the Covid-19 outbreak.

According to shop in Vancouver, Singapore Airlines last operated flights to the Canadian city in 2009 (then routing via Seoul).

Speaking of the news, Ms. JoAnn Tan, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines said:

“With the new Singapore-Vancouver-Seattle flights and the switch from San Francisco-Singapore to a VTL service, SIA customers can enjoy even more seamless travel options to North America during the holiday season at the end of the year. SIA will continue to monitor the demand for air travel and adjust its services accordingly. “
