Warner Bros. Animation is in the development of a sequel to the animated classic, Variety reported.
The show will play Elizabeth Banks, who will also act as executive producer and will take place 30 years after the original show.
The premise is Fred Flintstone’s imminent retirement. At the same time, voiced by Banks, Pebbles is ready to start her own career.
As the Flintstone family faces lifestyle milestones, so will Bedrock, the hometown that now shares its name with the new show.
The Stone Age advances into the so-called “shiny and enlightened new” Bronze Age.
“The Flintstones” premiered on ABC as the first prime-time animated series in 1960, Entertainment Weekly reported.
It ran for six seasons, according to the show’s IMDB page.
This isn’t the first time there’s a spin-off from the original Bedrock show. In addition to shows like “The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show,” “The Flintstone Comedy Hour,” and “The Flintstone Kids,” there were several live-action films, according to ScreenRant.
