Alki United Church of Christ (Alki UCC) has joined St. Vincent de Paul and the Westside Interfaith Network (WIN) to assist 13 Nicaraguan families as new immigrants to the United States are settling at the White Center. We welcome you to our larger community and hope to help you thrive in your new home.

With the upcoming school year, children’s clothing donations are urgently needed. We urge our generous neighbors to search through the closets and bring clean, new or carefully used children’s clothing to the driveway on August 15, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of the main entrance to the church in 6115 SW Hinds.

As always, we welcome non-perishable food and hygiene items that are distributed through the White Center Food Bank. Until school lunch resumes, many of our neighbors have difficulty feeding their children in the summer. Suggestions include: aseptic and nut milk, granola, peanut butter, tuna, pasta and sauces, canned soup, chilli, and beans (poptop preferred).

Donations of casual / work clothing for men are needed as well as NEW socks – the item of clothing that is most requested by our homeless neighbors.
