The man who was shot dead Thursday night on 28/Roxbury is said to have been 45 years old Ronald Moore, best known as the seasoned rapper gonzoe,

There is still no official confirmation of this – that King County Coroner has not yet released the victim’s ID – but we have confirmed that Gonzoe lived in West Seattle.

News of his death made the rounds last night, starting with a report on the entertainment news site VladTV (which WSB quoted for details on the crime scene / investigation from Thursday evening). There is no question that Gonzoe, who rose to fame as a member of the group in the mid-1990s Bond – died; Family, friends and fans mourn him. But we spent hours trying to figure out who actually linked his death to the Thursday night shooting. Because so many people have brought this to our attention, we’re going to publish this story with what we know and what we don’t know.

Although his online ID lists Los Angeles as his base, we have confirmed that Gonzoe has lived in West Seattle at least intermittently. The first message came from a person who contacted us, identified himself as a longtime friend and said that the rapper moved here a few years ago and has family here; This person said they had confirmed the circumstances of death through talking to a relative. While reviewing various types of online databases that might have names and addresses matched, we found confirmations from a traffic case in the 2020 and 2021 records that he had a Morgan Junction address. While looking through Gonzoe’s Instagram posts – which often gave his followers quick cheers – we found a video from July 13th that was clearly shot here in West Seattle (the beach scene shows Vashon and Blake Islands).

Back to the online information, his friend Boskoe 100, with which Gonzoe called a boxing league. founded Glovez Up Gunz DownShe spoke about the shooting in a video. He said he was told Gonzoe was preparing for a “late night studio session” when he went inside Roxbury Lanes Restaurant to get something to eat got into an argument with someone, and that person followed him and shot him dead.

That King County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate Thursday night’s shooting but has not released a report on the circumstances; What we quoted in our coverage comes from what we learned that night at the crime scene and over the emergency communications, as well as from KCSO’s confirmation of the victim’s death on Friday morning.
