Alair gift shop – the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce‘s newest Business of the year – expands and takes over the room next door. owner Shandon gray seal made this announcement tonight:

One and a half years ago I was able to welcome (Coastal) as our new neighbor at Alair. I was so excited to have these smiling girls next door and another place on our block to shop.

I recently received a call from our great landlord that our Coastal neighbors made the difficult decision to permanently close their doors. We know that decision was probably not an easy one and we are saddened for them and wish them all the best with the new dreams they are about to build. You can follow them on their announcements and let you know what’s next for their brand.

While we are saddened by the loss, we can also celebrate the future – a future we weren’t sure we would have last year.

We are therefore happy to announce that we are taking over the room next door! This is all very new and we will be making announcements as we figure things out and start expanding our storefront to their current space. For now, I can safely say that clothing for everyone is still being offered on this side of the building: women, men and children!

Losing any business is devastating to our community, but I also think no one takes these decisions lightly. Hope you will join me and wish the very best to Coastal and follow you with whats next.

Step one for us: from tomorrow we will open the doors for a huge clearance sale. We sell pretty much everything at 50% off and will continue to post hours of operation when we find out everything. So tomorrow at 11 the doors will be open! I hope to see you there!

Alair and Coastal are located at 3270 California SW. Coastal, which moved there from Alki in fall 2019, has been closed for a few months; We have had an inquiry with the owner for some time asking about his status but no response to this day.
