They pick up the plants, they collect the money! There will be three beneficial plant sales this weekend:
SOLSTICE PARK: The gardeners from P-Patch in this park across the north end of Lincoln Park are holding their spring plant sale this Saturday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The sale supports the basic maintenance needs of the garden and primarily finances our Giving Garden. The Giving Garden offers fresh produce for the West Seattle Food Bank. Last year the Giving Garden produced 999 pounds of vegetables, and along with 255 pounds of produce from individual parcels, the Solstice P-Patch made 1,254 pounds. Last year we couldn’t hold our spring sale which is our biggest fundraiser of the year. This is a great way to find great vegetarian products and interesting plants to add to your garden.
Look for the vendors at the tennis courts at 7400 Fauntleroy Way SW.
FURRY FACES FOUNDATION: For the first time in six years, this group that helps pets and their people is holding one of their iconic plant sales:
After a 5 year hiatus, the Furry Faces Foundation plant sales are back! Always great plants. Always have fun. Always for a good cause … keeping pets and humans together.
Perennials, annuals, edibles including tomato plants and vegetables, sedums and succulents, black mondo grass, drought tolerant plants, shrubs, and more. Most 2.5-inch and gallon plants cost between $ 3 and $ 10. All proceeds directly support our mission to keep pets and people together.
Tim Scallon, Furry Faces Foundation‘S Official Musician, will perform on Saturday afternoon. Come by, shop for our plants, relax and enjoy Tim’s fascinating music. You might want to bring a folding chair if you want to stay a while to listen to Tim and visit other plant lovers.
Furry Faces will be on sale on Saturday from 11am to 4pm at 3809 46th Ave SW
LUNG FORCE FUNDRAISER: Amy’s extended her charity sale (which started last Saturday) at 9 am-3pm this Saturday to raise money for the American Lung Association through her Sue’s crew Lung Force Walk Seattle Team. Sue is her mother, a two-time lung cancer survivor. 9 am-3pm at 3703 SW 107.
