LUSIO lights

If you’re looking for an outdoor immersive lights display this summer, LUSIO is for you. The exhibition encourages visitors to explore and play between art installations of all shapes, sizes, and formats. The special thing about this event is the fact that it is completely free!

Carpool cinema

Local favorite Scarecrow Video is again partnering with the Phinney Neighborhood Association, UHeights and Companis for its outdoor film series this summer. In August, you can watch both adult and family films every Thursday and Saturday. Do not miss!

CID Food Walk series

Would you like to experience the CID? One of the best ways to do this is with the fantastic and diverse food and restaurants that the neighborhood has to offer. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. you can enjoy local food and win some prizes at Hing Hay Park. Get out there and support the neighborhood and treat yourself to some new dishes!

Seattle Deconstructed Art Fair

The Deconstructed Art Fair is the replacement for the larger Seattle Art Fair, which attracts local, national and international galleries. But what makes it especially cool is that it allows smaller and local galleries to reach larger audiences. In fact, over 50 galleries are participating this year and you can visit them all online and in person.

Heroes and Villains: The Art of Disney Costume

We bet that at least some of you are interested in, or know someone who is, anything Disney-related. Well, you can visit a brand new exhibition at MoPOP with “more than 70 original pieces including ball gowns, magic capes, military uniforms, tiaras and of course glass slippers”. At the exhibition, you’ll learn about the vision, process, and craft that were used to create the costumes of some of the entertainment industry’s biggest names.

The Evergreen State Fair

Are you ready for your trade fair? You can do it in person this summer thanks to The Evergreen State Fair. You can enjoy cute animals, tasty fair food, and of course, fairground rides. It’s a Washington state tradition that you won’t want to miss out on. So get out there and have fun!

One of Seattle’s best and sneakiest galleries has a great show that you can only visit on the weekends. Works by Molly Magai, Tessa O’Brien, Emil Robinson, Gail Spaien, Jay Stern are currently on view. “This exhibition brings together a group of paintings that explore spaces and the features by which we know them.”

Sunflower days

This is your chance to stroll through seven acres of brightly colored sunflowers and take home a bloom. You can also enjoy other flowers to pick along with all sorts of family friendly activities like zip lines, a chalk wagon, and even a low ropes course. It’s sure to be fun for all ages.

Bob’s Corn Sunflower Festival

Bob’s Corn Sunflower Festival invites you to escape in over 50 sunflower varieties. You can wander through the fields, enjoy photo ops, visit a weekend market, and even eat and drink. There is fun for the whole family and if you are looking for a memorable late summer experience this might be for you.

Alden Mason: Fly your own thing

This exhibition is unique to PNW art as it features the works of prolific painter Alden Mason. Mason’s artwork helped shape the future of Northwestern art through his work and his teaching. So if you have been curious about local masters this is a great show to watch.
