The German supermarket chain confirmed Monday that the positions available include cashiers, warehouse keepers and employees in its more than 2,100 U.S. stores and 25 warehouses, the Wall Street Journal reported.

New employees will earn an average hourly wage of $ 15 for branch jobs and $ 19 for warehouse positions, including access to health care, retirement benefits and paid time off, the Journal confirmed.

The competitive starting salary and benefits are designed to attract candidates to an increasingly tight US job market where the jobs available currently outnumber the available workforce.

“Employees come to Aldi for competitive pay and the opportunity to work for a growing national brand. They stay because of the career potential and the satisfaction they feel, knowing that their work makes a difference in the communities they serve, ”Dave Rinaldo, co-president of Aldi, said in a prepared statement.

According to Fox Business, Aldi announced plans in February to add 100 new US stores by the end of 2021, building on the roughly 70 the company expanded in 2020 as part of its coast-to-coast expansion.
