Officials did not say what broke the transmission and left the front of the plane on the ground, Express reported.
British Airways said there were no passengers on board as it was a cargo flight but confirmed the plane was damaged.
The aircraft is eight years old and has 154 economy, 25 premium economy and 35 business class seats. But instead of carrying people, the plane was flying cargo due to travel restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, Independent reported.
The plane was last in the air on June 16 on a trip from Moscow, according to FlightRadar24.com and Express.
British Airways is investigating, reports The Sun.
