June 9 – Red Wing and former University of North Dakota standout wide receiver Travis Toivonen signed a deal with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday.
Toivonen, 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, will join the Seahawks’ 90-man squad at the minicamp this week.
Toivonen, an all-round sports star at Red Wing, ranks third in the UND’s Division I era (2008 to date) for career receptions (139), yards (1,719) and touchdowns. In 2019, as a senior, he had 48 catches for 684 yards.
After Toivonen wasn’t advertised in 2020, he signed a contract with the Fan Controlled Football League. In April he trained on Pro Day at the University of Minnesota.
