Seattle-based Sazan Environmental Services hired Tom Bowen and Thanh Pham as commissioning engineers in the Seattle office and Julia Stong as project coordinator in Portland. Bowen has a 15 year career operating and maintaining submarine nuclear power plant systems for the Navy. His current commissioning projects include Olympia High School at Olympia, Highline High School at Des Moines, and electrical upgrades at the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton. Pham holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Washington State University. She is currently running the West Woodland Elementary School in Seattle and the Woodside Elementary School in Bothell and helping with projects under the Seattle Building Tune-Up Ordinance, which requires buildings to meet energy and water efficiency measures. Stong holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from WSU and has worked in the AEC industry for three years. Her recent projects include the Seattle Public Schools condition and learning environment assessments, a value engineering study for the Terminal Park Elementary School in Seattle, and a buildability review of the School for the Blind for the Washington State DES.
