A Seattle man was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing children on Friday, according to a Justice Department statement.
The 33-year-old Seattle man was sentenced to eight years in prison and 15 years of supervised release for three federal crimes for the sexual exploitation of children.
Gary Stensland was arrested on August 5, 2020 and pleaded guilty on February 18 of traveling interstate with intent to engage in illegal sexual behavior, distribution of child pornography, and possession of child pornography.
According to records, Stensland traveled to Portland in September 2018 to meet a 13-year-old whom he had contacted through an internet app.
After Stensland returned to Seattle with the minor, he paid the minor to have sex.
Stensland then drove them back to Portland. She revealed the abuse in the summer of 2020.
On August 5, 2020, the FBI issued a search warrant in Stensland’s home and confiscated his electronic equipment.
The investigation found that Stensland sexually abused other minors and trafficked child sexual abuse through pictures and videos.
